This guide, which we developed alongside Children in Scotland, provides practical guidance for all those working within a learning environment on how they can support children’s learning through involving non-resident parents in their child(ren)’s education.
Based on research and evidence, this guide sets out the reasons as to why a school’s parental involvement strategy should ensure parents, particularly non-resident parents, are encouraged and supported to become involved and engaged in their child’s education. It sets out the relevant legislation and highlights what local authorities and schools are required to do.
