Community Fund supports Scottish family training pilot

The National Lottery Community Fund has supported Shared Parenting Scotland with a grant towards the cost of our Scottish pilot of the New Ways for Families® online training and coaching programme.

This training was developed in the USA by the High Conflict Institute and is now used by thousands of parents who are going through stressful separations in the USA, Canada and Australia.

The 12-module online training sessions are consolidated by one-to-one coaching sessions at the start, middle and end of the course.  We have already recruited and trained a team of experienced Scottish coaches.

In order to establish the effectiveness of this training in Scotland we are conducting and evaluating a pilot scheme over the next six months with at least 50 parents taking the course.  A previous evaluation in Medicine Hat, Canada showed a high level of success and a social return on investment of $8.85 for every dollar spent on the training programme.
