Studying father involvement in education

Eoin Keane is conducting research into the involvement of fathers and male carers in their child/children’s education as part of his MSc in Educational Psychology at Dundee University.  To take part in his survey please click this link.

He is seeking responses from fathers with a child or children in any of the following private or local authority educational settings: Early Year’s centre, nursery, primary school, secondary school in Scotland. The survey will take about 10 minutes to complete.

Research suggests there is great value when parents/carers become involved in their child’s education. Only a few studies completed in Scotland have focused on fathers/male carers involvement.

The purpose of this research is to try and understand what factors are associated with fathers’ involvement in their child’s education and what might help or prevent fathers’ engagement with their child’s schooling.
