This session looks at the family court system in Israel. Since its establishment in 1995, it has brought the judicial process and the helping professions together to resolve family relationship problems quickly and by the least damaging route. Retired Family Court judge Philip Marcus describes how this is now working to provide early assessment, advice and assistance services to potential litigants. Scottish judge Lady Wise and family lawyer Amanda Masson gave responses from the Scottish context.
