New staff member at FNF Scotland

FNF Scotland has appointed a Partnership Development and Outreach worker thanks to the new funding obtained from the Tudor Trust.  The successful candidate appointed from a strong field of applicants is Alastair Williamson.

Alastair joins the two existing part time staff, Ian Maxwell and John Forsyth. The new post represents a major increase in capacity that will enable FNF Scotland to respond to the ever-increasing number of enquiries from non-resident fathers and other family members.  We will also develop additional proactive work with other organisations in raising awareness of issues that might be resolved before they become conflicts.

Alastair has been involved with the work of FNF Scotland for many years as chair of the Glasgow group and also as a trustee since the Scottish charity was inaugurated.  As well as this knowledge of the issues faced by people seeking our services, he brings useful experience from his previous employment in sales and IT.

Commenting on this new appointment, national manager Ian Maxwell said: “We were very encouraged that this new post attracted a large number of well qualified applicants.  We look forward to the new initiatives that Alastair will help us develop, including more outreach and joint working with other other charities and statutory services who work with children and families, recognising that most children do better when both parents are involved in their life.”
