New Scottish separation and divorce booklet

The Family Law Association Scotland has just published an A5 guide to separation and divorce in Scotland which will be distributed free through libraries, CABx and other agencies.

Graham Harding,  chair of the Family Law Association, said: “Scotland has always been at the forefront of separation and divorce legislation and aims to treat parties in family law cases as being capable of resolving their issues without having to turn to the courts by negotiation, mediation, collaboration and now arbitration.”

“However, clients in the midst of breaking up have told us they would find the process less daunting, if clearer guidance was available. The FLA has, therefore, taken the initiative to address some of these issues and, at the same time, remove the cloak of mystery, myths and legal misconceptions around break-ups.”

Member firms of the FLA are listed in the guide, and their web site also has a searchable list of member solicitors.
