New guides from AMIS on men experiencing domestic abuse

Abused Men in Scotland (AMIS) is launching two new handbooks: a guide for men experiencing domestic abuse and a guide for service providers.

Service providers often indicate that while they would like to support men who use their services, whether they are in same-sex or mixed-sex relationships, they are unsure of how to do that.

These guides – made possible by a grant from the Scottish Government Equality Unit – set out some of the issues faced by men, highlight some particular difficulties or barriers more often experienced by men and offer information and suggestions to help organisations support men and their families, including any children that may be affected.

Launch events will take place  in Edinburgh (22nd April), Dundee (24 April) and Glasgow (2 May)  For further details and to download copies see the AMIS web site.

The AMIS helpline 0808 800 0024 operates from 7pm-10pm every day.
