Following a year-long pilot of New Ways For Families in Scotland, the programme is now being made available across Scotland by Shared Parenting Scotland.
The pilot was independently evaluated by Canadian academic, Professor Jeff Chang, through questionnaires completed by learners and by coaches. He also carried out individual interviews with a sample of participants as well as focus groups.
Speaking at the New Ways For Families event at the Scottish Parliament event on Wednesday 24th May, Shared Parenting Scotland National Manager, Ian Maxwell, cited the assessment of the programme by one learner who described the value of new skills and the new perspective that followed.
Ian also described how the combination of online learning and one to one sessions with the assigned coach makes the programme available to prospective learners across Scotland, in their own home and in their own time.
