Events on International Men’s Day

International Men’s Day on November 19th is an occasion to celebrate boys’ and men’s achievements and contributions, in particular for their contributions to nation, society, community, family and childcare.

Those wishing to celebrate this event in 2020 have a crowded programme of activity tomorrow evening.

At 17.30 Abused Men in Scotland (AMIS) are holding a free webinar on men’s experience of intimate partner violence.  This takes place on Zoom with speakers: Dr Elizabeth Bates, Iris Quar and Charlie Bird.

At 19.00 Shared Parenting Scotland is holding our AGM followed by a discussion of future activity.  All people who use our services welcome – book a place at this link – no charge but donations welcome.

Also at 19.00 you can take part in an overview of Shared Parenting in the Nordic countries run on Facebook by the World Parents Organisation (WPO).

This live event on November 19thwill include an introduction to the World’s first Gender Equality Catalogue for Children and Fathers that has been published in version 2020.

They will also discuss themes such as public information, paternity leave, human rights and future family law for Shared Parenting in society.  This event will refer to the letter and petition  that the WPO has just sent to the Danish Minister for Gender Equality, expressing concern about possible breaches in human rights law in areas such as public information about children, paternity leave and residential and non-residential parents.
